Another member that has been with the band longer than he can remember, Colin is also President of the Yorkshire and Humberside Brass Band Association, organising the Hardraw Scar Contest amongst other things.

Euphonium

Sarah Brooks

Sarah joined the band on second, second Baritone back in 1999, from here she moved up the line to 2nd Euph, where she is now quite at home, after playing there for around 5 years.

EEb Bass

Andrew Field

Andrew joined the band in 2003. Christmas 2004 brought Andrew's solo debut with the band, performing Frosty the Snowman at the band's Christmas concerts.

EEb Bass

Lucy Turner

Joined in 2004.

Lucy is one of our Eb Bass players, and our only female member of the Bass section - in this role she adds glamour and style to the back line of the band - she has been known to coordinate her lipstick to her red mouthpiece, and her mascara to her band jacket!!!  When she's not at band Lucy enjoys shopping, going out in home town York and spending time with Elsa, the lovely German Shepherd and Rob, her trombone playing other half.

BBb Bass

Stephen Ramsbottom

Stephen came to banding late, when both of his children were playing in the band. Simon and Carolyn have both flown the nest to university, but there's no getting rid of Stephen, the band's Chairman!

BBb Bass

Gerry Hall

Gerry has been with the band longer than he cares to remember and he's the band Treasurer, so be nice to him! He took the opportunity at the Band Barbeque to demonstrate he's just as agile as he used to be, scaling the 10ft garden wall to pick apples!!

Percussion

Eddie Sparrow

An outstanding percussionist, Eddie won two soloist prizes with the band in 2004, which is quite an achievement as the brass players usually take the silverware at brass band competitions!

Percussion

Sam Creamer

Another youthful recruit from Harrogate, helping secure the future of the band.

Percussion

Paul Warner

The final new recruit from Harrogate!

Norman Staples

Secretary

In 1975 the band had an engagement at the Annual Clifford Carnival. The band turned up complete with bass drum, but alas, no drummer. On arrival in Clifford the band asked amongst the crowd if any one could bang a drum and Norman's "mate" promptly volunteered him for the job. And, as they say, the rest is history...

Norman has been doing a sterling job as Secretary since 1994

"In the Remembrance Sunday parade he carries the big bass drum as in past years. It's quite a splendid sight seeing him in action"

Wetherby News, 2006.
